Had a blast the past 2 days with the whole KRVO crew in Montana: Radway, Charene, Paul and Brew. It was a tough 10 hour drive down to Boise today, but fortunately I still had the remnants of a Darth Maul face painting to entertain everyone I passed on the highway. Cold Smoke and Hornitos. Great Combo. Charene, I'm sorry I got you sick. Rest up. I'll be back soon.

Well. I've found it very difficult to upddate my blog a lot on this tour. Just a quick recap, and you'll understand why:

Things started out great in Akron. I was on 91.3 The Summit talking about the new record, then rolled down to Columbus to spend time with Maggie at WCBE. Had a great show at the Rumba Cafe, then things kinda fell apart. Heading back to my rental tour van at 1 am, I noticed a window was smashed, and my latpop was gone, along with some other items close to my heart. So, I've been dealing with insurance since then, hoping to get some of my items back.

Anyhow, I've traveled to DC, NJ and Baltimore since then. Stopping off at WBJB, WTMD, Frontpage and The Saint along the way. Currently resting up in DC, before I head to Charlottesville tomorrow. Hope to have more to report soon....

Last day recording here in Manchester. We got some killer pedal steel recordings from Jon Graboff (Ryan Adams, Norah Jones). He sounds amazing on "Wander Back to You." Can't wait to get these tracks out to everyone! Also managed to record two cover songs. They may go on the record, or I may just post them on my website for free. Either way, they sound great. Off to Denmark tomorrow for some shows with Brad...

4 - Wander Back to You

Started working on drums, and made it though a song and a half. We'll pick back up on Monday. For now, I'm off to Bath...

Had a few beers with the boys, then headed over to the house I grew up in, in Portsmouth, VA. Alex, my good friend from high school, dropped by and we had an impromptu photo shoot. (I'll post those pics soon). After that, just crashed out to be ready for my 6am wakeup for North Carolina.

Woke up in Arlington and hopped a ride with my good friend Sherry over to the Eastern Shore. I'd never been to Easton before, so I walked around the city a bit, then headed to the Night Cat for sound check. Really cool vibe at the venue. Got to watch "Call Me Mercy" open the show, then I jumped up for a few songs. The crowd was very respectful and really into the music. That always makes a difference. Finlay got up for a set, and then the lovely Betty Soo took the stage. Really enjoyed her set. Songs reminescent of Patty Griffin, one of my favorites. Check her out!

After the gig, hopped in the car and drove 4 hours to Charlottesville, VA. Spent some time with my friend Brian, then crashed out in his gues room. Thanks Brian!

Tour Journal Day 12 - Charlottesville, VA

Ahhh. So much fun being back in Charlottesville. I went to school here for 4 years, so drunken memories abound. Woke up at Brian's house, and headed straight to Bodo's. After a little flirting with the cashier, picked up a T Shirt, and enjoyed my egg bagel. Grabbed the boys and dropped them off at WNRN for an interview, then we all headed over to Bodo's (again) for more bagels. Scooted my fat belly over to WCNR for an interview and an in-studio performance, with a live audience. Very cool vibe at the station, and I had a lot of fun meeting all the fans that came into the studio. Listen to the entire interview/performance right HERE

Left the station, and headed over to my favorite coffee shop, Cafe Cubano (check my CD credits) for some tea and Internet. Met up with my good friend Ryan from Red Light Management and caught up on life stuff. Then it was off to BelAir Market for the best sandwich in the world, and Arch's for the best dessert ever. Headed over to Ventana to meet up with another friend, grabbed a ilttle more food, then off to bed again at Brian's. Was a great day in Hooville.
